Violet Bond is an environmental artist living in the remote north of Australia. A sculptor, ceramist, and photographer, she draws inspiration from the cycles of the natural world and the wild Australian landscapes.
Violet lives with a deep connection to nature, inspired by its seasons, its capacity for rebirth, and its natural relationship with death.

I enjoy the gentleness of these transient sculptures, how they peacefully inhabit the landscape without causing harm or domination over the natural world. They are simple interactions, one element resting alongside another, a creation by human hands sure, but one that won't endure for long. The will wash away, and it will be as if they never existed.
Humanity bears responsibility for so much harm to the natural world. These works tell the story of treading lightly on the world.
