The Sensation of the Wild
We are pleased to present, for the first time in Europe, the remarkable work of Australian artist Violet Bond, who arrives in France in the flesh during NFT Paris 2024.
Violet Bond is an environmental artist living in the remote north of Australia. A sculptor, ceramist, and photographer, she draws inspiration from the cycles of the natural world and the wild Australian landscapes.
Violet lives with a deep connection to nature, inspired by its seasons, its capacity for rebirth, and its natural relationship with death.

Violet Bond about this artwork
These majestic trees have been reduced to shadows of their former selves. I appreciate this perspective because they appear alive, standing tall in the landscape, yet in reality, they are lifeless, lying amidst the ash, soon to be concealed by the new saplings that will emerge during the upcoming rains in the shadow of a giant.
I utilised a circle of red dirt to accentuate the still-burning tree stump; the shape was already present, and I merely enhanced it.
Made on Dalabon country in the Northern Territory, Australia.
I pay my respect to the Traditional Owners of the land and their Elders, past, present and emerging.
