We have exhibited original panels and illustrations by Gianenrico Bonacorsi on several occasions: for Dionysus (2020), Genesis (Adam & Eve), Romeo and Juliet, and Sisyphus & Asclepius (2023).

With Goal Seduction, created by the artist specifically for our Sports Art exhibition, Gianenrico Bonacorsi delivers a work with a bold, saturated palette — vivid blue, bright yellow, fluorescent pink — that captures the suspended instant as the goalkeeper lunges to intercept the ball.

But the real wink is elsewhere: under the artist's brush, the ball transforms into a shape with evocative curves and textures, echoing skin and the contours of the body.

The title leaves no doubt about the intent: Bonacorsi hijacks the sporting icon and turns it into an object of desire, somewhere between humour and deliberate provocation. True to his pop, irreverent universe, the artist turns an almost mundane sporting gesture — the goalkeeper's save — into a scene charged with ambiguity and double meaning.

The contrast between the rigour of the frame (the goal, the net, the technical gesture) and the sensual charge of the ball creates a visual tension that provokes as much as it amuses.
