We follow the intertwined destinies of Dal-Rae, a young peasant girl, and Kim Ban-Ryu, a reclusive scholar, united by a revolutionary project: to make writing accessible to the people through the creation of Hangeul, the Korean alphabet.
Carine Borgi’s ink washes lend this historical tale a contemplative, almost meditative atmosphere. Through a subtle play of light, texture, and silence, the artist captures the emotion in a glance, the poetry in a gesture, and the inner strength of her characters.
