Gregory Panaccione - Petit Bonhomme - Original double page 268 and 269

The Epic of Petit Bonhomme

For the first time in his career, Gregory Panaccione has agreed to exhibit his original works in a gallery. A rare, almost historic occasion for collectors and lovers of the 9th art alike.

The original pages created for Petit Bonhomme, a wordless graphic novel written by Alexis Bacci, showcase the full narrative power of Panaccione: an instinctive, lively line capable of conveying emotion, tension and adventure without a single word of dialogue.

Through an exceptionally fluid visual storytelling, the artist unfolds an organic and lush universe where every stroke seems in motion. The watercolours, the airy compositions and the expressiveness of the characters give birth to a deeply sensory work, halfway between a travel sketchbook, animated cinema and contemporary illustration.

From contemplative scenes bathed in tropical light to sequences of narrative tension, Petit Bonhomme explores the themes of the emergence of life, the evolution of species, the dawn of society, war, death and above all love, with a rare visual poetry.

These originals are not only major works within Panaccione's body of work, but also unique testimonies to the creative process of an artist who has become an essential reference in contemporary European comics.
