Amaury Bündgen - Deter - Original page 100
Pure dark fantasy!
Acquiring an original page from Déter means owning a fragment of a dense and unique dark fantasy universe, published by Casterman.
In this graphic novel, Amaury Bündgen presents a solitary and taciturn warrior—the sole survivor of a suicide mission—who returns to claim what is owed to him from his former master. To succeed, he must climb floor by floor of a tower teeming with malevolent warriors, the undead, and necromancers. A video game-like structure serves an effective and relentless narrative.
What is striking about Bündgen's artwork is the meticulousness of his line work: each panel is a world unto itself, which one can contemplate at length to discover all its details. The brush inking is powerful and extremely fine; it's almost like pen and ink.
Discovered at the Lyon BD comics festival in 2018, Bündgen has established himself in just a few albums as a leading voice in French genre comics—from Ion Mud to Le Rite and Vertigéo, co-created with Lloyd Chéry (deputy editor of Métal Hurlant), which has garnered him a wide fan base.
