The Sensation of the Wild
We are pleased to present, for the first time in Europe, the remarkable work of Australian artist Violet Bond, who arrives in France in the flesh during NFT Paris 2024.
Violet Bond is an environmental artist living in the remote north of Australia. A sculptor, ceramist, and photographer, she draws inspiration from the cycles of the natural world and the wild Australian landscapes.
Violet lives with a deep connection to nature, inspired by its seasons, its capacity for rebirth, and its natural relationship with death.

‘Fire scar’ is a term used by rangers and other land management industries to describe areas where fires have moved through the landscape. This performance was conducted on a fresh fire scar, where a ‘hot fire’ had traversed the landscape just a few days prior. I brought the red dirt from another location nearby. I find this colour as striking as paint, and I relish the challenge of creating these contrasts using nothing but the environment itself.
Made just outside of Bulman in the Northern Territory, Australia.
