Bring Your Collection to Life

Achetez de l'Art Paris is hosting a collectors' comic art exhibition-sale, from Thursday, September 17 to Saturday, October 3, 2026. This exhibition brings together original art pages and illustrations from our collectors' personal collections, offered for sale in a gallery setting.

Dracurella, Humor and Fantasy According to Julio Ribera

Created by Julio Ribera in 1973 for Pilote magazine, Dracurella offers a humorous take on the vampire and fantasy genre. The series follows the adventures of Dracurella, the adopted daughter of Count Dracula, in a world blending parody, fantastical creatures, and offbeat situations. The first album was published by Dargaud in 1976.

Ribera handles both the writing and the artwork here, developing a highly personal style, precise and expressive, particularly well suited to this fantastical world. His work on Dracurella also reflects an important period in his career, before he went on to create the celebrated series Le Vagabond des Limbes with Christian Godard.

This page, titled "Dracurella au berceau," corresponds to a key moment in the story. The artist's fantastical world is on full display here - mummy, vampire, and a striking panel at top right - all built around the presence of the cradle.
