Bring Your Collection to Life

Achetez de l'Art Paris is hosting a collectors' comic art exhibition-sale, from Thursday, September 17 to Saturday, October 3, 2026. This exhibition brings together original art pages and illustrations from our collectors' personal collections, offered for sale in a gallery setting.

Herakles, Édouard Cour's Graphic Reimagining of the Greek Myth

Published by Akileos between 2012 and 2015, the Herakles trilogy is Édouard Cour's first major work. The artist offers a personal, contemporary reinterpretation of the myth of Heracles, son of Zeus and Alcmene, retracing in particular the famous twelve labors that made him one of the most iconic heroes of Greek mythology. The first volume was released in June 2012, laying the groundwork for a story blending adventure, humor, and mythological epic.

Édouard Cour handles the writing, artwork, and coloring here himself. His graphic approach deliberately steers away from classical iconography in favor of a supple, nervy, highly dynamic line. His paneling favors movement and the impact of action scenes, while still paying close attention to characters' expressions and attitudes. This modern interpretation of the myth gives Herakles an instantly recognizable visual identity, somewhere between ancient fresco, contemporary comics, and heroic adventure.

For this exhibition, we are pleased to present this original page by Édouard Cour from Herakles. A piece particularly representative of the artist's work on this foundational trilogy, offering a direct sense of the strength of his artwork, his feel for movement, and his distinctive take on one of antiquity's great heroes.
