Dominique Renson - Allegria - Urgent Sale ! Art
Allegria
Discover this edition of Allegria, an oil on canvas (116x81 cm) from the diptych "Joie" in the "Passion" series by Dominique Renson, who agreed to take part in our Urgent! Art sale organized during the 1st confinement, for which 50% of the proceeds were donated to the Fondation des Hôpitaux de Paris et Hôpitaux de France.
Dominique Renson on this work: "People often define themselves during crises: Compassion-Solidarity-Love. I wanted to capture these emotional states in a series of paintings: Le Cri (triptych), Transe (diptych) and Joie (diptych). These paintings were exhibited at Saint Merry Church in Paris in April 2018."
Dominique Renson's strikingly rendered works combine power and delicacy, and are stunningly present.
Jean-Luc Chalumeau on Dominique Renson:
"We need painting to capture the truth of human beings, which is often poignant. Photography or video can sometimes come close, but that's because the photographer or videographer is himself first and foremost a painter. "Oil paint on linen canvas coated with rabbit-skin glue - a traditional technique," says Dominique Renson. She could also say: "preemption by painting of a real being, in its presence but also in its becoming, i.e. death". Dominique Renson's lineage is that of Giacometti, not that of hyperrealism. To go beyond what our eyes tell us about reality, is to present in a palpable way what the observed being experiences at the deepest level. It means inscribing it in time, not in the passing instant. Come on, painting still has a bright future ahead of it! Provided, of course, that it takes an interest in what it alone can say (which its technical production processes will never say)."
