Didier Eberoni - Carcasses - Original page
Bring Your Collection to Life
Achetez de l'Art Paris is hosting a collectors' comic art exhibition-sale, from Thursday, September 17 to Saturday, October 3, 2026. This exhibition brings together original art pages and illustrations from our collectors' personal collections, offered for sale in a gallery setting.
Carcasses, a Singular Graphic Work
This page comes from "Carcasses," an album by Didier Éberoni (best known for "Le Centaure mécanique") co-signed with Frada, published in 1983 by Humanoïdes Associés.
Beyond the storytelling, it is the pictorial dimension that dominates: the interplay of color collides a postcard-like image - a 1950s shopping center - with a starkly unsettling subject, that of a butcher having relations with a carcass of meat. The pictorial disorder, almost Pollock-like (could those be bloodstains?), surrounds and smothers this seemingly quiet scene, in a vein reminiscent of David Lynch.
A work of remarkable flat acrylic color, its visual impact as controlled as it is unsettling.
