Kama Sutra, the Sensual World of Milo Manara

Published in November 1997 by Albin Michel, Kama Sutra stands as a singular work in Milo Manara's bibliography. The album offers a series of scenes inspired by the erotic imagery of the famous Indian treatise, brought to life through the Italian artist's distinctive visual style. Manara weaves a story where eroticism, humor, and fantasy blend together in a particularly refined aesthetic.

His ink line, at once precise, fluid, and highly expressive, allows the artist to give his characters an immediately recognizable elegance and sensuality. Several original drawings tied to Kama Sutra are documented as having been used in the creation of panels or pages of the album, with some compositions later completed and assembled digitally.

For this exhibition, we are pleased to present an original illustration by Milo Manara that was used in the creation of a page of Kama Sutra. A particularly compelling piece for collectors, as it offers a glimpse into one stage of the creative process behind one of the artist's most iconic albums and captures, in an original work, the full virtuosity of Manara's line.
