Johnny Jungle, the Hollywood Adventure According to Jérôme Jouvray

Published in 2013 by Glénat, Johnny Jungle tells the astonishing story of Johnny, a wild child raised by apes who, once brought back to civilization, becomes a genuine Hollywood star. Jean-Christophe Deveney and Jérôme Jouvray craft a story that plays with the conventions of Tarzan and the figure of Johnny Weissmuller, blending adventure, humor, and nostalgia into a delightful tribute to Hollywood cinema.

In his artwork, Jérôme Jouvray develops an expressive, dynamic style particularly well suited to this story, which shifts between the jungle, wide open spaces, and the behind-the-scenes world of film. His line, paired with Anne-Claire Jouvray's coloring, gives the album a lively, humor-filled graphic identity while retaining the spirit of classic grand adventures.
