To mark the Football World Cup, Achetez de l'Art Paris presents Sports Art, an exhibition devoted to the artistic representation of sport through a dialogue between photography and illustration.
About This Photograph
Grand Col Ferret is one of the defining moments of the UTMB route; the highest point of the legendary race that circles Mont Blanc.
The image wasn't taken during the race itself. It shows a runner in training. It's really a photograph of a place made for sport — one of those places where the race is traditionally won or lost. There's the Maracanã for football, Eden Park for rugby, Teahupo'o for surfing, and... Grand Col Ferret for ultra trail running.
